The final year of the Loughborough Industrial Design & Technology course contains one significant project which is taken from concept to prototype through an extensive design and development period.
The product that I created is a case for people with diabetes to store and cool their insulin wherever they might be. Current products are often design afterthoughts, and do not address the long-term nature of the problem.
A neoprene 'jacket' (bag) holds the main unit which contains all the kit a person with diabetes needs in a 24 hour period. The work was displayed in the 2006 Design & Technology Degree Show.
